JOSHUA -- Sylvia Strube, 94, died Thursday Sept. 11, 2008 in Fort Worth. Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Monday Sept. 15, 2008 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery in Cleburne. Visitation: 7-9 pm Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Sylvia was born Jan. 6, 1914 in Cleburne to Willis and Alice Melton Couch. Sylvia was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Joshua. She attended beauty school in Dallas. She worked for the post office in Godley and was owner of the Joshua Floral it was the first flower shop in Joshua. Sylvia also loved painting and art. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted Strube who was the first mayor of Joshua; brother, Billy Couch; 2nd cousin, Leigh Jones Simpson in 1981. Survivors: Cousins, Don Jones and wife Virginia of Lewisville, Helen Calhoun of Melbourne, Fl.; second cousins, Richard "Rick" D.
