Terry Don McCulloch, age 65, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2022, after a courageous four-year battle with leukemia. Terry was born in Breckenridge, Texas, on April 13, 1957, to Joyce and M.B. McCulloch. He grew up in Burleson with his parents and two older brothers, Randall and Garry. Terry lived and breathed baseball from a young age and was awarded Most Valuable Player for the Burleson Elks High School baseball team his senior year.
Terry met the love of his life, Kelly, at the Burleson High School tennis courts in 1975. They were married on December 27, 1980, and together raised two daughters, Dixie and Sally. Terry worked as an aerospace engineer for over forty years and recently retired from Bell Helicopter in the spring of 2022 after more than twenty years with the company.
What made Terry happiest was being with his family: swimming in the pool, grilling with his son-in-law, summer beach trips to the Texas coast, and playing pretend veterinarian with his two granddaughters and his pug dog LuLu. He loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed drinking coffee outside in the morning while listening to the birds. He adored his wife and best friend Kelly who dedicated herself to his care during the four years since his diagnosis. In the years since his father had passed, Terry called his mother, Joyce, like clockwork at 8 pm each evening in order to check on her. Terry was known for his kindness, patience, wisdom, humility, and generosity. He came to Christ at a young age and was the spiritual leader for his family. Terry’s love for the Lord increased throughout his illness, providing Terry with a peace that surpasses all understanding.
Dad braved his recent leukemia relapse “one step at a time, with joyful dependence on God,” a reminder that would serve to orient his heart around the One who is in control and works all
things together for our good. Terry was preceded in death by his father, M.B. McCulloch, and his eldest brother, Randall McCulloch. He is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Kelly; two daughters, Sally McCulloch and Dixie Lupi and husband Francois; two granddaughters who were his pride and joy, Eloise and Caroline; mother, Joyce McCulloch; brother, Garry McCulloch and wife, Lisa; sister-in-law, Elizabeth; brother-in-law Alan Dixon and wife, Michelle; and sister-in-law Kathy Miller.
