Tharon Emory Connally

December 24, 1928 — December 18, 2023

Tharon Emory Connally "Poppa" passed away peacefully in his home early in the morning on Monday, December 18, 2023, with family by his side. He was a proud Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a devoted man of God who never met a soul he didn't share the Gospel with. It didn't matter if he was in public, or during his time teaching in his prison ministry, or church, he never shied away from asking you "What do you think about Jesus?" Matthew 16:15-16; John 14:6; John 3:1-18. He also cherished every opportunity to teach the Bible to anyone who was willing. He was an ordained Baptist Minister and an electrician by trade, retiring from Santa Fe Railroad. He was an avid fisherman and a dedicated family man.

He was born December 24, 1928, in Punta Gorda, FL. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Genny Connally, father Emory Connally, mother Sarah Connally, sister Sadie Strother, brother Alfred Connally, infant brother James Connally, and two grandchildren Heather Henderson and Hanna Henderson. He is survived by his children Wess Connally and wife Pongsiri, Lori Lollis and husband Blake, Annell Stevens and husband Wes, Sylvia Ware and husband Chris, James Henderson III and wife Angela, Jan Heath, and Joni Henderson; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter; brother Robert Connally and wife Phyllis; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family and friends.
Psalms 127:2b-5a, "Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them."

Tharon was a very blessed and loved man by many who knew him. He will be very missed by all.
