BURLESON -- Thelma Jewell Strength, 77, died Monday, July 25, 2005, in Joshua. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Burleson. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Burleson. Mrs. Strength was born June 27, 1928, in Bynum to Mark and Edith Underhill Ray. She married Travis Strength on Feb. 22, 1948, in Hillsboro. She had been a phone operator for Southwestern Bell and retired as a switchboard operator for A. Brandt Co. in Fort Worth. She was a resident of Burleson since 1958, a member of First Baptist Church in Burleson, and loved shopping and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and five brothers. Survivors: Son, Randy Strength of Bedford; daughter, Lisa Stewart and husband, Chip, of Rainbow; grandchildren, Jordan Stewart of Rainbow, Jillian Fulgium of Fort Worth and Cortney Stewart of Burleson; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
