Theodore "Ted" Samuel Jones, 85, passed from this life on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, in Burleson. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, followed by interment in Bethesda Cemetery in Burleson. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Joshua. Born Oct. 22, 1930, in Sabraton, W.Va., Ted was the youngest son of William Samuel Jones and Miriam Gertrude Powell Jones. After graduating from Morgantown High School in 1949, Ted attended the University of West Virginia and met the love of his life, Betty Jean Christopher. They married on Christmas Eve in 1954. Ted worked as a mechanical planning and design engineer in the aeronautical field at Bendix Atomic Energy Program, LTV, NASA, Boeing and Bell Helicopter. After retirement from Bell Helicopter in 1995, he and Betty moved to their farm in Cleburne. Ted was a past member of the United Pentecostal Church of Kansas City, Mo., and faithfully attended Calvary Church in Fort Worth for more than 30 years, serving as a deacon and usher. Ted loved his God and loved people. In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his brother, Robert William Jones, and his sister, Helen Elizabeth Jones Smith. Survivors: Ted is survived by his precious wife of almost 61 years, Betty Jean Christopher Jones; his son, Curtis Jones and his wife, Gayle; his daughter, Diane Jones Jost and her husband, Bruce; his son, Douglas Jones and his wife, Rhonda; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
