BURLESON -- Tommy Dan Wood, 80, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and retired code enforcer and building inspector for the city of Everman, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at South Park Baptist Church, 7201 Crowley Road, Fort Worth. Burial: 2:30 p.m.. in Cottonwood Cemetery, near Hubbard. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Tommy Dan Wood was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Prairie Pointe to Alonzo Jefferson and Mona Belle Lowe Wood. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He married Helen Sawyers June 5, 1948, in Hillsboro. He was a dedicated Baptist and a deacon at South Park Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Survivors: Wife of 58 years, Helen Sawyers Wood of Burleson; sons, Steve Wood and wife, Kay of Parker, Larry Wood and wife, Ann of Burleson; daughter, Linda Campbell and husband, Rick of Crowley; sisters, Lee Neal and Agnes Rape, both of Burleson, Lucy Estes and husband, Kenneth of Hill County; sisters-in-law, Desie Wood of Fort Worth, Daisy Sawyers of Dallas; grandchildren, Laura Skipper, Carrie Gerdes, Angie Wood, Amanda Wood, Tommy Wood, Kassie Morell; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Joe Skipper, Alexis and Steven Wood, Jackson Morell, Connor Gerdes.
