Tonya Marie Dees passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Huguley Hospital.
She was born June 16, 1975, in Dallas, TX, to Jim and Willie Elam. She was a 1993 graduate of Grandview High School in Grandview, TX where she played Basketball and later went on to play at Cisco Jr. College. She worked as a shipping coordinator for Leeco Steel in Joshua, TX and was a member of Pathway Church in Burleson, TX. Tonya truly loved life and lived for her kids baseball games, soccer games, High jump meets, and of course, watching her kids show animals through Joshua FFA. She loved her family and her community, and it showed through her contagious smile.
She is survived by her husband Dustin Dees of Joshua, TX, her 2 children Kora Dees and Kyler Dees, of Joshua, TX. Her father Jim Elam of Cleburne, TX, her brother Don Elam and wife Rebecca Elam of Glen Rose, TX. Her mother-in-law Pahla Dees of Burleson, TX, her Brother-In-Law and Sister-In-Law, Scott & Kristen Patterson and her nieces Ruby and Kate Patterson, of McKinney, TX.
She was preceded in death by her mother Willie Elam of Grandview, TX.
Family and friends are invited to visitation Monday night at 6:00pm at Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Joshua, TX. Services to follow Tuesday morning at 10:00am at Mountain Valley Funeral Home followed by graveside service at Caddo Cemetery.
