BURLESON -- Troy Dean Anderson, 74, of Burleson, passed away Monday July 13, 2009 a his residence. He was a quiet man of compassion, generosity, faith and high ethics, personally and in business. He gave much and asked little in return. Funeral: 10:00 am Friday July 17, 2009 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Burleson Memorial Park. Visitation: 6-8 pm Thursday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: The family requests that donations be made to fight lung cancer at the American Cancer Society, Vitas Hospice Care 2501 Parkview Dr. Ste. 600 Fort Worth, Tx 76102. Troy was born Jan. 20, 1935 in Tahlequah, Ok. to Omar "Bud" and Iva G. Hendrix Anderson. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the fourth child in his family of eight children. He graduated St. Johns High School and set out on a fascinating journey we call life! A short time in the oil fields of Kansas, a auto wreck and broken leg Colorado called. After moving to Denver in 1952 working as a serviceman and then salesman at Western Trailer Sales. With lots of hard work, some call "luck", became CEO of GEM Mobile Homes and GEM Distributing. In 1968 moved on to United Mobile Homes. In 1983 Texas warm weather beckoned and Troy D. Anderson Insurance Agency came into existence. Troy married Joyce Ann Hicks on July 12, 1968 in Las Vegas. Troy enjoyed life to the fullest, loved his family, loved traveling the world over, reading and football, most of all loved to work, the accomplishment of a job well done was satisfaction enough. He will be greatly missed but as we say our farewells we also say "God's speed and well done Troy, Well Done!" Troy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ray and Roy; sisters, Novella and Nadine. What a joyous reunion going on in heaven right now! Survivors: Wife of 41 years, Joyce Ann Anderson of Burleson; daughter, Tammy Crawford and husband Brian of Burleson; grandson, Sam Crawford and wife Stephanie of Abilene; great granddaughter, Baylor Crawford; Darlene Anderson of Yukon, Ok., Doris Anderson of Stafford, KS.; sisters, Betty Jean Englehart and husband Ray of Greely, Co., Brenda Forgy and husband Dennis of Salt Lake City, UT., Pam Downs and husband Cliff of Skiatook, Ok.; special family friend, Minnie Lundberg of Lakewood, CO.; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews scattered all over the United States.
