Virgil Rhodes, 73, of Joshua passed away Saturday April 21, 2018 in Ft. Worth. Funeral Service: 2PM Wednesday, April 25, Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation: 6-8PM Tuesday, Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Burial: Emerald Hills Memorial Park, Kennedale. Virgil was born May 9, 1944 in Ft. Worth to V. J. and Lynne (Hough) Rhodes. He was a very loving man with a heart as big as Texas. Virgil was an active member of Union Baptist Church of Springtown, and past member of Marystown Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and song leader. He worked very hard in life and was successful in business. Virgil owned and operated Virgil Rhodes Construction Co. & Cemetery Services. Virgil's love for family and friends was boundless. He was generous to a fault, always making himself available to those in need. Survivors: wife, Helen Rhodes; sons, Wesley Rhodes, Curtis Rhodes and wife Lavonne; adopted son, John Upchurch and wife Margaret; granddaughters, Brittney Chavez and husband Micheal, and Makennzie Rhodes; grandson, Brett Rhodes and wife Savannah; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Peyton, and Blu; and many other loving extended family and friends.
