Virginia "Jinny" Welch

BURLESON -- Jinny Welch, 71 of Burleson a homemaker, died Monday Nov. 19, 2007 in Grandview. Funeral: 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Burleson Church of Christ. Interment: Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock. Visitation: 10:00 A.M. - 12 noon Friday, Mountain Valley Funeral Home, Burleson. Jinny was born Dec. 1, 1935 in Gerard to Maurice and Effie Dell Martin Fite. She married James David Welch on March 20, 1955 in Lubbock. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1972. She was past president of AARP Burleson Chapter, active in the Heart Fund Assoc., PTA, and Burleson Band Booster Club. She was a member of the Burleson Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School forever. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Michael Maurice Fite, and a sister, Camilla Mallory. Survivors: Son, Maurice Welch and wife, Teresa of Lubbock; daughters, Dellamy Thomas and husband, Brad of Wenatchee, WA., Davitra Lawrence and husband, Bill of Seattle, WA., Davonia Leach and husband, Doug of Burleson; sisters, Fauncine Horne of Shallowater, Bettye Myres and husband, Jim of Red Oak; grandchildren, Casey Watson and Kyle Thomas, Caitlin, Andrew, and Meghan Lawrence, Emily, Grace, Aaron, and Sam Leach; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
