Wade Cooper

May 16, 1940 — October 11, 2022

Wade James Cooper, 82, was called home to glory on October 11, 2022.

Wade was born on May 16, 1940 to James Louis Cooper and Stella Rose Cooper, ten minutes after his twin brother Wayne who featured in many of his best stories of mischief and mayhem.

Wade married Bammie Lavada Mansell on November 16, 1957 in Fort Worth, TX. He began his career in auto paint and body, but eventually retired from Lockheed Martin in 1993.

Wade was a devoted Christian and an avid reader of both his Bible and “the funny paper.” He will be fondly remembered as a loving husband and father, adored Poppy, porch-swing swinger, rose smeller, Dr. Pepper drinker, lottery loser, and grandkid spoiler.

Wade is survived by Bammie L. Cooper, his wife of 65 years; their three children Roger Cooper, and wife Chris, Missy Bush, and husband Kenny, and Micahael Cooper, and wife Kelli; grandchildren Mary and partner Conn, Maeghan and wife Lainee, James and partner Chelsie, Tessa and husband Brendan, Andriah and partner Trey, Cassandra, and Isaac; great-grandchildren Sadie Wade and Braxton Lee; brother Wayne Cooper, and wife Linda; lifelong friend Kid Rich; and much loved and spoiled dogs Maisie and Sammi.

Wade was preceded in death by his parents James and Stella Cooper, his brother Emmett Cooper, his sisters Dorothy Moore, and Violet Pitchford, and his beloved dogs Emily Anne and Sarah Jane.
