Wanda Lee Brothers

Wanda Lee Brothers was born in Hugo, Oklahoma on March 20, 1941 to Doyle and Louise Jones. She departed this life while in a resting state, early Monday morning January 15, 2024 at the age of 82.
She grew up in Hugo, with her older brother JD until 1948 when the family moved to Fort Worth. They left Forth Worth for Oklahoma, due to the Trinity River flood of 1949 and returned to Fort Worth in 1951. Wanda graduated from North Side High School in 1959.
Wanda married Eidsel Brothers August 5, 1960. They resided in Tarrant County and then moved to a home they built in Joshua, Texas on the Brothers Estate, where they spent their life together beginning in 1967.
Wanda and Ed adopted a new born baby girl in March 3, 1965 and were then later blessed with a son of their own in October 2, 1966.
Wanda worked at Ken Keppel's hardware store on Main Street, in Joshua for 27 years, where she was known and loved by nearly the whole town and could be seen wearing "loud" colors with earrings and eye shadow to match and a blue smock which she continued to wear everyday after retiring.
She attended the Joshua Church of Christ having returned there from the Granbury Street Church of Christ following the loss of her husband.
Wanda was preceded in death by her father Lee Doyle Jones, 86, September 10, 2000, her mother Mennie Louise Jones, 83, November 19, 2002, and the love of her life, Eidsel Brothers, 67, May 26, 2003.
She is survived by brother, JD Jones; daughter, Cindy Newberry; son, Mike Brothers and wife Kelly; four grandchildren, Tiffany Biggs and husband Bobby; Preston Newberry; Ryan Brothers and wife Julia; Breanna Newberry; eight great-grandchildren, Katelynn Biggs; Liam Newberry; Lennon Smith; Emma Smith; Addison Biggs; Jaden Smith; Ava Rubio; Rosie Brothers.
Wanda was a beautiful lady inside and out. People in the town of Joshua can still be heard telling of her kindness and beauty.
