Wanda Jean Cheek

Wanda Jean Cheek, 72 of Burleson, a homemaker, died Saturday Nov. 28, 2009 in Fort Worth. Funeral: 11 a.m., Thursday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: 3 p.m., at West End Memorial Cemetery in Stephenville. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Mrs. Cheek was born Dec. 12, 1936 in Stephenville to General Lee and Stella Faye Izell Day. She was an avid reader, loved to cook, and was an excellent seamstress. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 33 years, Charles Cheek; and brothers, Bud and Jack Day. Survivors: Sons, Tommy Cheek and wife Debbie of Burleson, Ronnie Cheek of Fort Worth; daughter, Laura Ledford and husband David of Burleson; sister, Dorothy Ann Sanchez and husband Abel of Alvarado; grandchildren, Ryan Cheek, Melissa Cheek, Tyler Ledford, Ashley Ledford, Amanda Sylvester, James Ledford; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
