Wanda Ruth (Springer) Gomer
Wanda Gomer went home to be with the Lord on November 4, 2022. Wanda was born on February 3, 1934, to Jesse Carl Springer and Leona Harris Springer. She grew up and was baptized at Rosen Heights Church in Fort Worth. It was here that she met Stanley Gomer while in high school. The two fell in love and married on April 25, 1951. They had three children, Wes, Vicki and Stanna.
For over 71 years Wanda and Stanley built their marriage and family centered on God. Wanda was a talented musician and organist. She played the organ at Rosen Heights Presbyterian Church, Trinity Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth and St. Matthew/Pathway Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Burleson. She and Stanley are founding members of Pathway Church where Wanda served as organist for 51 years.
Wanda was a lifelong learner and a beautiful spirit. She loved life and loved what she was doing especially as she served God in church playing the organ. She was a devout Christian. She loved God, her church, and most of all she loved her husband, family, her children, grandchildren and great grandchild.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother, Carl Eugene “Gene” Springer. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Stanley Gomer, three children, Dr. Wes Gomer (Charles Shelton), Vicki Jeannine Crouch, and Stanna Ruth Casner (Craig), grandchildren Leslie Cook, Jason Crouch, Colt, Clayton and Kyra Casner, and great granddaughter Emery Cook. Sister-in-law Judy Springer, several cousins, nieces, nephews, extended church family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in honor of Wanda Gomer to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church Missions Ministry Team 8207 Traditional Place Cordova, TN 38016-7414
