Weldon Gene Wadsworth was born in Sardis,Texas on December 5,1931 to Grady and Susie Wadsworth. He went Home to be with Jesus on December 26, 2022.
Weldon was a cattleman his whole life. After graduating from Waxahachie High School, he worked at the historic Fort Worth Stockyards as a cattle buyer for Jary, Cassidy and Foley Allen Commission companies. When he saw the end of the Stockyards coming, he started his own successful Holstein cattle company, supplying cattle to dairies.
Weldon was a strong Christian man, who attended church with his family every Sunday morning, evening and Wednesday evening. He loved to sing or hum traditional hymns. Soon he realized his passion for teaching young children about Jesus, so he taught two and three year olds once a month until he was eighty-nine years old.
Weldon was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Raymond Earl Wadsworth, Grady (Corky) Wadsworth and Kenneth Wadsworth, along with his son-in-law, Bobby Pearson and grandson, Bobby Gatto.
Weldon is survived by his wife, Julia Parker Wadsworth. He is also survived by his children, Dianne Walker, Mitch Wadsworth, Kim Pearson, Paula Cribbs and Holly Harris, along with eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is also survived by Julia’s children-one daughter and one son, seven grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Weldon will forever live in our hearts.
