BURLESON -- Willa Dean Nivens, 88, of Burleson passed away Thursday July 23, 2015 in Fort Worth. Service: 10:00am Monday July 27, 2015 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation: 4-6 Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Willa Dean was born on August 17, 1926 in Lakeview Texas. She was a very active member at First United Methodist Church of Burleson. Willa Dean loved sewing, cooking, gardening, crocheting, and playing games, especially dominoes with her grandchildren. Willa Dean was preceded in death by her husband R.L Nivens, loving parents, and brother W.M Gowdy "son" and wife Violet. Survivors: Daughters: Shirley Spier, and husband Jack of Burleson, Teresa Chittenden, and husband Steve of Kingwood, Billie Boyd, and husband Jerry of Burleson. Sister Mozelle Richburg, and husband James of Memphis Tx, Brothers: Jimmy Gowdy, and wife Kathy of Amarillo, Jerry Gowdy and wife Ninfa of Abilene. 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild and many friends, family, and loved ones.
