BURLESON -- Wilson Kellis Allen, 93, of Burleson, a retired mess sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, in Burleson. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Interment: Evergreen Cemetery in Paris, Texas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Wilson was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Gustine, Texas to William Arthur and Lillie Belle Carroll Allen. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Wilson proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He loved playing dominoes, Texas Rangers baseball, golf, traveling, playing pinocle, big band music, western ballads, spending time with family, cooking and telling stories. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mildred L. Allen; second wife, Lou Ellen Allen; brother, Hilton J. Allen; sister, Inez Layton. Survivors: Sons, William Edward Allen, Jerry Wilson Allen and wife, Ginger L., of Burleson; daughter, Beverly Ann Bothell and husband, James, of Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren, Caron M. Byington of Fort Worth, Teri L. Allen of Dallas, Donna K. Ybarra of Keller, Amy L. Veselka of Burleson, Melynie L. Gardner of Weatherford, Christopher B. Hicks of Tulsa, Okla.; and 16 great-grandchildren.
