BURLESON -- Weldon Blackstock, 85, a retired construction worker, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006 in Burleson. Funeral: 10:00 a.m., Saturday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Burleson. Burial: Burleson Memorial Park. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: The Burleson Animal Shelter, SPCA, or a charity of choice. Marion Weldon Blackstock was born April 29, 1921 in Kopperl to James Frank and Minnie Mertle Hurst Blackstock. He married Pauline M. Brooks on July 27, 1940 in Burleson. She preceeded him in death on July 2, 2004. Weldon wa a Baptist who enjoyed gardening, fishing, and his animals. Survivors: Sons, Paul Blackstock and wife Rena of Temple, Dale Blackstock of Burleson; brother, Carl Blackstock of Arlington; granddaughters, Julie Blackstock of Farmers Branch, Joya Elam and husband Mike of Arlington; great granddaughter, Maike Elam of Arlington; and special faithful friend Buffy.
